With this input you will:
- Examine the differences between leadership and management and how it applies to staff management
- Consider the importance of motivation and how to keep staff motivated
- Gain an understanding of time management and project management as tools both for yourself and your staff
- Develop strategies for looking after both the personal and professional needs of your staff
- Learn about 'Action Learning' and how it can benefit everyone in your school

Developing Leadership and Management for Middle Managers
This input is designed for middle managers in your school. The day is divided into two equal parts, with half the day given over to leadership and the other half to management — throughout the day delegates will be working in workshop groups and encouraged to reach their own conclusions, facilitated by one of our leadership experts.
Leadership
The first part of the day will concentrate on leadership as it relates to:
- Your subject or key responsibility
- Your role as a leading exemplar
- Interpersonal skills
- Development of teamwork
- People
Management
The second part of the day will concentrate on management as it relates to:
- Your subject or key responsibility
- Time management
- Delegation and project management
- Procedures, systems and structures
- Communication
- People

Developing Leadership and Management for Senior Staff
This input is designed for senior staff in your school, most likely to be headteachers, deputy heads or assistant heads. It works best when senior staff from more than one school can get together to share the day.
The day is divided into two equal parts, with half the day given over to leadership and the other half to management — throughout the day delegates will be working in workshop groups and encouraged to reach their own conclusions, facilitated by one of our leadership experts.

The second part of the day will concentrate on management as it relates to:

- Time management

- Delegation and project management
- Procedures, systems and structures, in particular your preferred management structure
- The importance of good communication

Time Management
With this input you will:
- Carry out a self evaluation of your own management of time
- Gain an understanding of some of the techniques you can use to improve your own time management
- Learn how to find time to do more of the things you want to do rather than spending all your time doing the things you have to do
- Learn how to fit everything in
- Become the master of your workload rather than the servant

Transformational Leadership
For heads taking on a new school challenge. With this input you will:
- Examine a variety of leadership styles and how and when they can be most effective
- Look at the difference between transformational leadership and other types of leadership
- Examine the characteristics of transformational leaders
- Develop the characteristics of transformational leadership
- Gain an understanding of the possible casualties during a period of transformation and what you can do about it
- Learn how to move from transformational to distributed leadership seamlessly and effortlessly

Project Management
With this input you will:
- Find out what project management is
- Find out why project management matters to the teachers in a leadership position and how you can apply it to any project, large or small, that you are involved in
- Learn how to develop a project management protocol for all your staff
- Learn about the project management continuum and how to use it
- Learn how to deliver intended projects on time, on budget and to the standard expected as well as helping others to do the same
